Hi I am Anna. I developed Intuitive Painting quite by accident, before then I painted in a very regimented and neat style! Before I start a painting I have no idea of what I am going to paint or even the colours I will use. I calm and empty my mind, shut my eyes and breathe deeply and then just start painting trusting that it will be as it should be. I will usually paint to music, often soothing meditation music or my native American tribal music if I want something more upbeat with higher energy!
I feel the paintings come through me, not from me. We all have this ability to let go and create and it gets easier with practice. You could call it painting meditation as it certainly has all the positive benefits of meditation and some. By relaxing and emptying your mind of all the daily chatter and anxieties, you find yourself feeling refreshed and revitalised. Most people find when they paint intuitively that their energy levels are raised, spirits lifted and they have some personal and inspiring artwork for their home! Win, win all round. Just for the record – I do have my “off” days when it just isn’t happening for me on any level. Then I usually just accept that and go and do something else instead. Annoying but true!
I have always created from a young age and it was whilst working as a nurse, I felt a strong longing to re-connect and pursue a career teaching and painting. So began my journey of carving my own path in the arts. You can read more about my journey here.
Being self employed is a real joy and I most enjoy the opportunities it gives me to develop as an entrepreneur and artist. Most most recent venture is to turn my Intuitive Painting into an online course, where I share my techniques so you can do it too!
