This year, so far, has been a real melting pot of change as our foster children moved on to a new placement. All the while I have tried to keep my art business on an even keel and moving forward but is not very easy as at the moment I am an artist who doesn’t feel much like painting!
I must confess, I have felt a little lost at times and questioning how I would like the next phase of my life to be. The house is very quiet now and with our daughter abroad and our son due to go traveling next week, it will be just me and my husband at home for the first time in many years. Now that sounds quite appealing and do we really want to fill up all the empty bedrooms with foster children again? Should I go and get a “proper” full time job or work part time and carry on with Your Creative Path?
I realise that I am a person who feels a bit adrift without any firm plan or direction. I was surprised how much I need to make the “right” decision. I think I have driven my poor husband mad, as I swing from one emotion to the next, being a bit off balance. Some days, I embrace that we have the opportunity for a fresh start and it could lead any where. The next day, I will be trying desperately hard to make a plan, any plan just so long as it is a plan and will stop me feeling unsure of the future. But as the days pass, I think I am getting somewhere.
I realise it doesn’t really matter what I actually “do” as long as I am on purpose and doing what I came here to do.
I think I came here to give, to shine my light brightly and help others to do the same. The whole basis for Your Creative Path is to share my love of painting and to help others express who they really in a safe and fun way. By getting bold and brave on a canvas, it can help give you confidence to be bold and brave in your every day life too. It can be the start of something that underpins a whole new way of living – to be the person who you were born to be before everyone told you how you should be.
So now I remember that I am here to give and help others shine their own light, I understand more that it doesn’t matter if I do this in a full time job or if I do it by fostering again or any number of different work / life combinations. As long as I am true to my purpose, then I will be inspired again.
If have you been feeling a little lost and out of balance with who you really are, you may find taking my “Freestyle Art – Painting for your Soul” Online Art Course is just what you need. Find out more here.
Ps A full time job is now discounted as I remember how I love the freedom to plan my own days, take a coffee in the sun when I want or to have a power nap after lunch!
